Opportunity to help grow ultimate in SeaTac with some park dept. led ultimate clinics. Wish I could go tomorrow.

Our local mixed club team, the Rainmakers, are practicing at Jefferson Elementary at 5:30pm on Thursdays.

This Thursday we will run some conditioning drills, skill drills and activities, and practice some "O" and "D" strategies.

Time: 5:30pm-8:00pm

Others are welcome to join us for all of this. I may ask you to take on certain roles as we work on some strategies, and we may scrimmage in a non-"pick-up" way (i.e. run certain zones, or one team always runs O or something) for awhile, but we generally end with focused scrimmage.

Outlaw Saturday 4/24 - field change

We are moving back to our ol' stomping grounds to try out those fields for some Outlaw ultimate. We may be getting some new folks in our little town for Outlaw ultimate, the new open team forming up in the south sound. Check out Outlaw Ultimate on Facebook if you are interested.

When: Saturday 2:30pm

Swagger Tryouts + Monday Pickup (in Seattle)

Our friends in Seattle are forming up a new mixed ultimate team with the goal of making Nationals. Below is some info on opportunity to play and tryout.

To start things off, though, we'll be holding a SWEET pickup tomorrow night!
Monday, April 19: 7-9 pm @ Lower Woodland Playfield #2

The tryout dates and locations are as follows -
Tuesday, May 4: 6-8pm @ Magnuson Park #6
Saturday, May 8: 10am - 12pm @ Lower Woodland Playfield #2
Monday, May 10: 8:30-11pm @ Hiawatha Park
Saturday, May 15: 6-8:30pm @ Magnuson Park #7

We'll probably go with the tried and true small warm-up, split into teams, play Ultimate tryout schedule. We'd also like to ask for $3 per tryout to cover the cost of the fields.

Saturday in Puyallup : 1:30pm

Alright, here's the deal. With college sectionals happening in our backyard in Puyallup, I think pickup will be sparse.

Instead, why not come on out to Heritage Rec Center to watch, and hopefully play a little.

I plan to be around field 3 to watch UW vs UPS (unless the schedule changes) at that time. If we can get enough people out around that time, we can play perhaps on an open area (field 5?) around 1:30 or 2pm. At 3pm quarterfinals is suppsosed to start.

Who's in? Please post so we can an idea if we can get enough to play a game.

Saturday the 17th

This weekend is college sectionals. This year they are very close by, at the Heritage Rec Center in Puyallup. There are some great teams playing this weekend, and it should be fun to watch. Check here for details:

I expect no pick-up at Jefferson Saturday because of this--but stay tuned. Maybe we might plan to meet out there to play a little pickup on a spare patch of grass, or at least get some throws in, followed by heckling of UPS & PLU.

Saturday the 10th

As much as I hate to say it, I think pickup will be not happening this Saturday. The UPS men and women are gearing up for sectionals the next weekend, and won't be out, and many of us will be scrimmaging them that day, or are out of town.

Count on some bad weather for some decent ultimate. Time to get your wet and windy disc skills back.
